Fishing Information [packages/pricing]

We believe that when people go on a fishing trip the #1 priority should be to have fun and catch fish.  We want to keep you safe, comfortable, and also give you the best equipment we can find.  Our goal is not to run a high number of people, giving you some Johnny Come Lately guide and saying well, he had an off day.  Everyone who fishes with me will be treated very well with lots of personal attention and the knowledge that your guide has 12 years of experience on Lake of the Woods with 210 to 240 days per year on the water.  We are not a bargain basement operation, not getting to know or care about the client.  We are a business but it’s much more about lifestyle.  We feel we can do a better job for a fair price.  If you want just cheap trip call a charter boat outfit.  If you want a quality experience with a good guide and good equipment call Ford’s.

We have 12 years of experience on Lake of the Woods. Ford’s Guide Service is Coast Guard licensed and fully insured.

Our packages are all inclusive all you need to bring is your food and beverages. We offer full days, twilight, or whatever options you choose.  Reasonable rates catering to couples and family.  See our packages for more information.

Equipment

• 2006 24’ Mako with 225 Mercury.
• Comfortable seating while fishing for up to 6 persons.
• New Shimano Rods and Reels.
• All the safety equipment, life jackets, etc.
• You fish better and have a lot more fun when you are comfortable.  You who have fished in a crowded charter boat know what I mean. 

• Walleye - Rainy River: spring and fall, Lake of the Woods: summer through fall. Bait fishing and flat line plug fishing is our specialty.  We do not down rig.
• Northern Pike - Both Rainy River and Lake of the Woods: spring, summer and fall.
• Sturgeon - Rainy River: Spring.  Getting better every year.
• Sauger - A nice bonus to whatever you are fishing.
